We had the opportunity to host Prof Michael Szonyi at a small group event, put together at short notice, the evening of June 6.
Catherine Tan of SagaTree very kindly offered to host at her offices, which proved to be an apt venue on Amoy Street as our topic was on China and various aspects of that – the diaspora, the leadership, China within the global context, China domestically … the dialogue ran the gamut and more.
Prof Szonyi, who is both a Professor of Chinese History and the Director of the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, shared with us some of his research as well as insights he has garnered about China-US relations and more broadly China in the context of the international arena.
