Nearly 150 students, parents, alumni and guests gathered at the Singapore Exchange to celebrate this year’s Harvard Prize Book recipients, 28 students from ITE, junior colleges and polytechnics, recognised for the care they have shown their communities. The Guest of Honour, former Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, was the Club’s very first Prize Book recipient, awarded as the top Economics student. He shared that the book changed his mind about his course of study, and very likely shaped the path that followed, a reminder that an evening’s small gesture can travel with a young person for a very long time.
