Our alumni and their family members had an incredible Saturday morning at the Singapore Oceanarium! With an expert guide, they journeyed through vibrant coral ecosystems, deepsea galleries, an Aquarist Lab with a sea
jelly nursery, and awe-inspiring panoramic tanks that brought
the ocean to life.
A lot of positive feedback was received by the attendees and here is some of their sharing:
For Alex Green (HBS’25) and his family, it was how “dolphins came up to the glass to interact with the kids, and they all had a blast”, the “great opportunities for the families, adults and children alike, to connect and share a unique experience together” and how “kids all got a chance to see real-life baby sharks during the private tour of the Oceanarium Nursery”.
For Gretchen Yuan (HKS’13), the highlights for her son were “the discovery of new fish and sea jelly”, which he absolutely loved, “the sea urchin in the lab” and how “the staff are incredibly nice … gave very detailed introduction of
all kinds of fishes which is very helpful”. Her son was so intrigued by what he experienced at the Oceanarium that upon reaching home, he went to his DK encyclopaedia to read up more about sea life!
Last but not least, Gmeleen Tomboc (HLS’12) was so happy in “seeing the kids talk to one another” throughout the tour. Gmeleen is already planning playdates and she looks forward to attending more HCS family events with other alumni’s kids! The blend of discovery and joyful interactions during this event also created meaningful educational moments and networking opportunities that strengthened our alumni community across generations.
Our sincere appreciation goes to Angeline Tong (HGSE’05), whose collaboration and strong ties within Resorts World Sentosa ensured discounted tickets for our attendees. Her smooth coordination with Andrew Nai (HBS’13) was also instrumental in delivering this successful family event for our alumni.
