Harvard University Association of Alumni in Singapore (1)
Dear Members and Alumni,

We had a great chat with President Bacow during his ZOOM conversation last week with all our alumni in Asia and Europe at his 6am! Approximately 500 people dialled in, and questions ranged from on-campus issues and growth in both technology / STEM areas as well as the liberal arts -- the Allston campus truly sounds amazing. He also spoke on areas like international alumni engagement and the continued focus of attracting "the best and the brightest” international students and faculty despite the on-going geo-political tensions and issues; whilst continuing to be a bastion of freedom of thought and intellectual debate.

The most important event for HUAAS this month is the AGM on March 24th, Thursday. It will be a virtual event, starting at 6pm, followed by a short talk by our 2022 HUAAS Award recipient - T. Sasitharan. We are honoured that he has accepted the award, following Noeleen Heyzer and Prof Wang Gung Wu.

The nomination period closed at midnight last week on February 28th. Our nomination committee will now be reviewing all the candidates, and the voting period will be open March 16th-23rd -- you will get notice of the candidates prior to that.

Please register for the AGM via this form, and a ZOOM link will be sent before the actual event.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on March 24th, and please do remember that HUAAS would be nothing without the participation of our members, so please come!

Best regards,

Rebecca Woo
President, HUAAS
