We are looking forward to a busy fall - with the Welcome to Your City event and an Asian Civilizations Museum tour (jointly with Columbia) in September, a Harvard Professor who is a renowned scholar on Chinese affairs in October, our much anticipated annual dinner in November, one to two more of our signature “Ideas Lunch” series and numerous other social and themed-discussion gatherings scattered in between.
I managed to attend the Harvard-Yale social at the end of August and it was great fun!! -> the venue Sol created two cocktails - one blue, one red, just for us. Guess which was preferred??
Through the joint HCS-HBS Club membership program we have also been enlarging our membership base which hopefully will lead to an even richer community and interaction between all of us that have a Harvard commonality.
As you know, we are in search for Harvard’s 30th President, after Larry Bacow’s announcement of his plans to retire from that position at the end of the 2022-2023 academic year. Fifteen members of Harvard’s governing boards have been selected to be on the Search Committee, which is being led by Penny S Pritzker ’81, former US Secretary of Commerce, as the Senior Fellow of the Harvard Corporation (the university’s highest governing board). We will do our best to keep you, our alumni and members, informed on any updates. Harvard affiliates can provide input about the search and suggest candidates via an open form and by emailing [email protected].
Otherwise, Masks are OFF! Keep well, and hope to see you soon over the next few months; and I will again say that if you would like to get more involved and / or have ideas for us - please just reach out.
