This was followed by the establishment of Kwai Fung Salone in 2022\, a cross-cultural collaborative platform for art and cultural programming in Hong Kong that spotlights local talents as well as international masters across different disciplines. \n\n\n\nAside from gallery exhibitions\, Catherine has also collaborated with renowned museums and cultural institutes in China and Hong Kong\, curating and co-organising many high-profile and influential exhibitions. He then completed a Master in Education at Stanford University. Since returning to Singapore\, Khir has focused on research into the food cultures of maritime Southeast Asia. He relishes every opportunity to document oral histories and preserve objects of material culture such as old publications\, artifacts\, textiles and music. He was elected Vice President of the Singapore Heritage Society in 2016 to promote public education and advocacy. Khir enjoys writing articles and giving talks on history\, heritage and culture.Khir Johari’s book\, The Food of Singapore Malays: Gastronomic Travels Through The Archipelago\, has achieved significant acclaim\, winning the Best Of All prize at the 2025 Gourmand Cookbook Awards (considered the “Oscars” of culinary publishing) and the 2024 NUS Singapore History Prize. For generations\, learning was built on the accumulation of knowledge. Today\, with AI able to generate unlimited content in seconds\, the question is no longer how much do you know — it is how do you know what to trust. Are our schools preparing children for the world that actually exists? \n\n\n\nProfessor Reimers will facilitate a iscussion across three dinner tables\, drawing on his decades of research in global education reform\, 21st century competencies\, and the future of learning — exploring what it means to teach discernment and intellectual resilience in an era of information overload\, and why education policy deserves far more urgency in the public debate than it is currently receiving. \n\n\n\nLimited to 30 guests. We welcome school leaders\, educators\, parents\, and Harvard alumni who share a stake in getting education right for the next generation.Priority will be given to Harvard alumni.  \n\n\n\nAbout Professor Reimers\n\n\n\nFernando Reimers is the Ford Foundation Professor of the Practice of International Education and Director of the Global Education Innovation Initiative at Harvard University. He is an elected member of the US National Academy of Education\, of the International Academy of Education and of the Council of Foreign Relations. An expert in the field of Global Education\, his research and teaching focus on understanding how to educate children and youth so they can thrive in the 21st century. Professor Reimers is the author of 56 books\, including Artificial Intelligence and Education in the Global South and Educating for a Climate Changed Future. At Harvard he directs the new International Education and Policy Management online master’s degree program and the Global\, International and Comparative Education concentration. He was a member of UNESCOs Commission on the Futures of Education which wrote the report ‘Reimagining Our Futures Together. A New Social Contract for Education’.  \n\n\n\nDuring the COVID-19 pandemic he led numerous comparative studies examining the educational consequences of the pandemic and identifying options to sustain educational opportunity and to build back better.  At the Harvard Graduate School of Education\, Reimers serves as co-director of the new International Education and Policy Management Pathway\, an online master’s degree program designed specifically to focus on international education. The program launched this fall with an enrollment of 72 students from 33 countries. \n\n\n\nHe directs the Global Education Innovation Initiative\, a cross-country research and practice collaborative focusing on education for the 21st century. He has written or edited 56 books and over 100 articles and chapters\, including Artificial Intelligence and Education in the GlobalSouth: A Systems Perspective\, Educating Students to Improve the World\, Schools and Society During the COVID-19 Pandemic\, Education to Build Back Better\, Primary and Secondary Education during COVID-19\, and University and School collaborations during a pandemic. He recently edited a special issue focused on Education and the New Challenges of Democracy. He has also authored several children’s books focused on inclusive values. As part of his commitment to advancing educational opportunity and international education\, he serves on multiple advisory boards and committees at Harvard\, particularly focused in advancing the global mission of the University and enhancing the effectiveness of the university’s programs to address climate change and to advance the internationalization of Harvard. He serves on Harvard’s University Committee of International Projects and Sites\, on the executive board of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies and of the Center for African Studies\, is a faculty Associate of the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and of the Center for International Development. He also serves on the boards of a range of education organizations focused on the improvement of education and the promotion of peace\, inclusion and sustainability\, including the Fulbright Scholar Advisory Board. He has served on the Harvard faculty since 1998.
