We are amazingly, surprisingly, even perhaps - fortunately? - at the end of 2020. Whether we celebrate Christmas, or are relaxing over school holidays, I am sure we are all looking forward to a new beginning in 2021.
|
This has been an odd twelve months, we have all had our coping mechanisms stretched with the issues that this covid-19 has brought upon us - but most of us here are lucky to be healthy and well and although we have had to experience some hardship and make changes to our lifestyles; our degree of suffering has been, by and large, mild, relative to many others.
|
I for one am sad that the planned reunion with my parents and brothers family has been scuttle-butted (the HK-Singapore bubble has been delayed) - needless to say, I was not so polite when the news first broke!! - but have decided now to adopt the spirit of season - of happiness, or being thankful, of giving, of looking forward.

The board and I hope that 2021 will bring fewer ZOOM events and more in-person gatherings, albeit in smaller numbers. Human beings are social creatures by nature! Take good care of yourselves, and your family, and friends

Prof. Howard Gardner is the John H. and Elisabeth A. Hobbs Research Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. An eminent scholar, psychologist, and educator, Professor Howard Gardner is best known for his theory of multiple intelligences, which suggests that human intelligence should be differentiated into modalities, rather than be accepted as a general ability. He has received honorary degrees from thirty-one colleges and universities, including institutions in Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, South Korea, and Spain. He has twice been selected by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazines as one of "100 most influential public intellectuals in the world." He’s also been named one of the most influential thinkers in U.S. education and a “global guru” of business management. In 2020, Prof. Gardner’s memoir, A Synthesizing Mind has been published by MIT Press. He is the author of several best-selling books and publications, including Multiple Intelligences, Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, The Unschooled Mind, Creating Minds: An Anatomy of Creativity, The Disciplined Mind, and most recently, his memoir, A Synthesizing Mind.
