Dear ,

Last weekend was family day at Harvard and the Yard was full of parents visiting their kids. It was also a time for the leadership of the Harvard alumni community to gather together to share best practices and to celebrate the the achievements of the various Harvard clubs around the world, including a special call out for the Harvard Club of Ukraine which demonstrated admirable resilience in mobilising resources to support the people of Ukraine.

Attending the annual leadership conference reminded me of why the members of the HCS board serves its community. I know many of you are interested in giving back to the Harvard community. If you are, the door is open for you to exercise leadership. You just need to show up, like Jiang Shuo did. Together with with Ayesha Khanna's support, she is now leading a sunset hike this month on 25 Nov. We hope to see more wellness activities bubble up organically from the community instead of waiting for the board to organise it.

You can also use your connections to host an interesting talk, the way Kirsten Conrad did when she convinced Prof. Griffiths to speak at our Beyond Oppenheimer and Einstein event on 28 Nov.

How about helping us with ideas for fundraising or membership drives so that we can increase the value that the club brings to the Crimson community in Singapore?

Or let's find a way to bring Harvard a capella groups to Singapore to host workshops for the local schools?

Remember, this club is for you. What we can do is limited only by your generosity with your imaginations and efforts. If you have ideas for events or sponsor the venue for our events, drop me a note at [email protected].

Veritas.

Welly Tantono
President of the Harvard Club of Singapore
